Kaleidoscope Diversity Trust

Registered Charity Number 1146274

Established in 2011, The Kaleidoscope Trust works to uphold the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) people in countries where they do not have their equal rights and are discriminated against because of their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

Our work to date has focussed on three inter-linked approaches:

- Raising awareness about the contexts LGBT people face abroad through communications and advocacy within the UK

- Policy change efforts with Commonwealth institutions and member states

- Strengthening skills of LGBT activists and building platforms for their advocacy

We partner with organisations led by LGBT activists and bring them together with British and international policy-makers and business leaders. The UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Global LGBT Rights, which was founded in 2015, grew out of the Parliamentary Friends of the Kaleidoscope Trust

We are the co-founder and coordinator of The Commonwealth Equality Network (TCEN), the first civil society group to sustainably advocate on behalf on LGBT people within the Commonwealth diplomatic community, institutions and civil society.

Through our engagement with Commonwealth institutions and London-based diplomats from member states, the Trust has identified and developed allies who are considering policy progress to protect and promote the rights of LGBTI people.

Our high level advocacy, strategic networks and commitment to supporting activists has energised and strengthened the impact of those working to ensure LGBT individuals live freer lives.

Support Us:

With your help we can transform the lives of LGBT people across the world.

We have provided support for over 35 LGBT organisations across Asia, Africa and the Caribbean to persuade their governments that access to healthcare, education and employment for their LGBT citizens is not just their human right but also in the national interest.

At home, we continue to engage with Parliamentarians, utilising the All Party Parliamentary Group on Global LGBT Rights, to inform the approaches the Department for International Development and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office can take to demonstrate Britain’s leadership in the global struggle against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

None of this vital work would be possible without your support. We do hope you will be able to join us.
